Our client for this project, Lisa Reintsma, is the proud owner of a beautiful 18th century Victorian estate located in Arlington, Virginia. Lisa needed ideas and requested our class to help her re-design her kitchen and update her living room and dining room. The goal of this project was to produce two hand drafted floor plans for the kitchen, one with a $20,000 budget and the other with an $80,000 budget. Students were also expected to provide two color palettes, a historic color scheme and one of their choosing. For this particular project there was a hundred dollar award being given to whomever’s design was chosen by the client. There ended up being two winners and I was one of them being awarded the title of Overall Best Design.
